One day at a time

The last time I hosted, I was not fully aware of all the steps that must occur for the children to travel to the US. Over the last week, the children from the DR have had a lot of ups and downs. They have to travel to the Consulate at least twice (the first for the appointment and the second for the interview - at least that is my understanding, which has been wrong a lot). In the past, the children have been able to have all of their appointments/interviews on the same day (which helps tremendously as the group lives more than two hours away). This time, the kids have been basically in three different groups (for a variety of reasons).

We will find out hopefully today if all of the children (all 19 of them!) receive their visas and their passports in time to travel next Thursday! They should be arriving in less than a week. I can't believe it. Please keeps these precious kids and their chaperones in your hearts, thoughts and prayers as they navigate these next few days.
